Energy-efficient air conditioning for Rochdale homes & businesses
Modern air conditioning does more than cool a room — a properly sized system heats it too, for a fraction of the running cost of storage heaters or an old boiler. ClimaTight designs, installs and maintains quiet, low-energy systems across Rochdale, Bury, Oldham, Heywood and Middleton.

Lower bills, not just cooler rooms
Most people think of air conditioning as summer cooling. The bigger win is winter: a modern heat-pump air conditioner delivers around 3–4kW of heat for every 1kW of electricity it uses, so heating a room can cost less than a plug-in heater or a gas boiler.
- A+++ inverter systems that sip electricity
- Room-by-room control — heat only what you use
- Whisper-quiet units, ideal for bedrooms and home offices
- Built-in air filtering for cleaner indoor air

What local customers say
"Fitted a unit in our bedroom and the box room. Spotless job, and the house has never been so easy to keep comfortable. Genuinely lower bills through winter too."
Sarah T.Rochdale"Used them through Gas Tight for our boiler for years, so trusting them with the air con was a no-brainer. Turned up on time, tidy, explained everything."
Mark D.Heywood"Our office was unbearable in summer. Three multi-split heads later and the team can actually work. Quiet, and cheaper to run than we expected."

Air conditioning questions, answered
How much does air conditioning cost to install in the UK?
As a rough guide, a single wall-mounted unit for one room typically runs from around £1,800–£2,500 fully fitted, while multi-room systems scale from there. The final price depends on the output you need, pipe runs and access. We give a fixed written quote after a free survey — no obligation.
Is air conditioning expensive to run?
Modern inverter systems are far cheaper than people expect. In heating mode a heat-pump air conditioner is typically 300–400% efficient, so it can heat a room for less than a plug-in electric heater. Cooling a bedroom overnight often costs only a few pence an hour.
Do I need planning permission for air conditioning?
For most houses, an external unit is covered by permitted development as long as it meets size, siting and noise conditions. Flats, listed buildings and conservation areas have stricter rules. We'll advise on your specific property during the survey.
Can air conditioning heat my home as well as cool it?
Yes. Almost every system we fit is a reverse-cycle heat pump, so the same unit that cools you in summer heats you efficiently in winter — often the main reason our customers install one.
How often should air conditioning be serviced?
Once a year for a home system, and every six months for heavier commercial use. Regular servicing keeps efficiency high, catches small faults early and is required to keep most manufacturer warranties valid.
